Mentoring Minority Females into Medicine Program
(M2FIM)
Program Description: The Mentoring Minority Females into Medicine Premedical Initiative is a collaboration between Dr. Cherece Grier, Dr. Karen Schooler, the Greensboro Medical Society, and the N.C. A&T Pre-Professional Scholars Program (PPSP). The M2FIM Program provides unique mentoring opportunities, by African-American female physicians, for minority females at N.C. A&T interested in medical careers. The ultimate goal of this program is to increase the number of freshman and sophomore level minority females at N.C. A&T who are on track and prepared to pursue careers in medicine.
Mission: To mentor minority female college students interested in pursuing the practice of medicine
Vision: Through monthly sessions that improve and nurture their knowledge about medicine, personal development, and mental stamina the students will succeed in graduating from college and matriculating into medical school.
Target Audience: Freshman or sophomore minority female students who are committed to the career path of becoming a physician and in need of successful role models and mentors.
Eligibility:
-Currently enrolled in N.C. A&T State University
-Be a freshman or sophomore minority female
-Have at least an overall 2.8 GPA
Be working toward admission to medical school
